Jake Rosenegger
Founder
Jake studied finance at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, with a focus on venture capital. Before founding Steelhead, he worked in VC deal flow analysis and portfolio operations, evaluating technology companies and building the internal systems his teams needed to operate efficiently. He also works as a professional fishing guide, which is where the name comes from.
Steelhead started from a straightforward observation: the businesses that would benefit most from AI are the ones least equipped to build it themselves. Enterprise firms have internal teams and seven-figure budgets. Startups have technical founders. But the mid-market companies running real operations on 20 to 200 people rarely have either. They need someone who understands both the business problem and the technical solution, and can deliver the latter without requiring the former to be translated by a committee.
That is what Steelhead does. As an AI consulting firm in Calgary, we sit at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, building systems that solve specific operational problems for companies that do not have time to figure out AI on their own. We currently work with staffing agencies, insurance brokerages, and digital marketing agencies across Calgary and Western Canada, on projects like the ones shown in our case studies.
